STEIN
HOLDING CONTEST
INFORMATION AND RULES
- 100 Teams will square off on Saturday
September 8th,
2007 to claim the title of the 2007 STEIN HOLDING CHAMPIONS. This esteemed
title is given to the two person team that can hold a Stein (full of water) for the
longest time.
- All Stein Holding Team Members must be at Alpine Village Park by 5:00 pm Saturday
September 8th, 2007. When arriving they must know the name of the Team they will be
holding for. Each Team Member will be given a stein and a T-shirt for their
own to keep. Should your team members not arrive by 5:30 pm, a
replacement will be found. Gates will be open at 5:00 pm for stein holders to
register.
*21 YEARS AND OVER ONLY WILL BE PERMITTED INTO ALPINE PARK*
- This is a two person relay team.
- The object of this contest is to hold the stein as steady as possible with a straight
extended arm, without spilling the contents.
- When the contest begins the first team member will pick up their stein (which will be
filled with water) and hold it out in front of them. Elbow and arm must be kept
straight at all times and parallel to the ground. All contestants must be standing.
- Once the contents of the stein have started to spill, or the official judge decides the
contestant is unable to hold the stein steadily at a reasonable height from the ground,
the first team member will then step aside and the second team member will continue the
competition.
- After a designated time period, the emcee will stop the contest. The
remaining teams will be escorted to the stage by their presiding judge. The
contest will restart on the stage with the same person holding the stein
that they were holding when the contest was initially stopped. If Holder No.
1 is holding when the whistle blows to go on stage then No. 1 must continue
holding the remaining time. If holder No. 2 was holding, likewise, they
would be the only one to hold, not permitting Holder No. 1 to come back and
try again.
- The contest will continue until the first place winning team is determined. The
first place team shall be the last team left standing and still able to observe the rules.
GRAND PRIZE: TWO
